So I went to the obgyn last week over concerns about these bumps on my vulva. Thought it was ingrown hairs but they looked and felt different than that. Then I convinced myself I had some dormant herpes that decided to break out. She took one look down there and immediately said that’s molluscum contagiosum. I had never heard of this before.
After some research I learned about what it is and how you can contract it (shared towels, skin to skin contact, etc.)
I’m not sexually active (for like 6 months) so I’m confused how I got it down there exactly. If I had contact with a contaminated surface, why did it show up where the sun doesn’t shine? (As opposed to anywhere else on my body)
Has this happened to anyone else?
