Is this reasonable?? (Users that restrict their entire libraries)
Howdy fellow seekers! I am quite annoyed and wanted to ask here whether I am justified in my annoyance. I have been a user for about 12 years now, and I have read the stickied etiquette post. But I have recently encountered constant instances of this situation in which a user is technically "sharing" but actually has their entire library locked (outside of a few songs to avoid getting auto-banned) thus they are in reality a new arrogant brand of leeches. Not sure if this is due to my tastes becoming more eclectic or if there are in fact more and more egomaniacs deluded enough to pull this crap, expecting hours of work from me just to grab an EP I want. It really sucks as a music fan that just wants a copy of their favorite tunes.
Their user profile will have a list of insane rules that appear to be the rambling of a lunatic who seems to believe their music library is the second cumming of JFK himself. As an example, I have included screenshots of such demands that I encountered today which total 5 pages of text on my phone. This particular leech believes their tunes are so valuable that in order to access them, not only does the leech demand specific tunes in exchange, they also demand that I download some program to verify that my tunes are amazing enough for their incredible library and provide proof of course. Totally sane behavior.
Basically, I want to know (1) if it is considered reasonable to use soulseek in this manner, and (2) regardless of that answer, if there is any way for me to auto-ban leeches like this. It just really rubs me the wrong way and imo goes completely against the spirit of the program.
Just imagine if every user did this... Exactly ZERO young/new music fans would be able to download anything, and the program would thus effectively die. Thoughts??
