Mild Badtides (suggestion)

Right now badtides are always 100% badwater, which makes the best way to deal with it often making it go off the map as quickly as possible.

Which if you employ that strategy, makes it basically a drought, except shorter, since badtides are balanced around being harder than droughts, and so all difficulties have them as shorter than droughts.

So i think, in custom difficulties, you should be able to change the badwater percentage for badtides, affecting water sources and water seeps.

So you could say set badtides to be, for example, really mild at 20% badwater (80% water) but make it much longer than droughts, which would challenge you to keep the contaminated water.

To combat it, Maybe you'd have to put your crops closer to the river so they don't dry out. Have a drain for your dam so your water pumping doesn't concentrate the contaminated water into too much badwater. Make your roads that go in the water have gates to turn them off to prevent contaminated beavers. And, late in the game, have mechanical water pumps to separate the water from badwater

Also please let us save custom difficulties

The weapon durability system is great (in the early game)

The weapon durability system has a lot of different advantages

  • It gives a constant sense of progression
  • It pushes players to try all the weapon types and combinations
  • It encourages players match weapon quality to enemies, meaning using your weaker weapons vs weak enemies and strong weapons vs strong enemies, leading to players challenging their skill more consistantly
  • It allow players to save up strong weapons to take on hard challenges

The problems with the weapon durability system is that those advantages largely disappear later in the game

  • Once you have a bunch a good weapons, you get regression rather than progression from fighting most enemies. Encouraging you to avoid fights even if you like fighting
  • in the lategame you've presumably tried all the weapon combinations and will stick with what you like
  • maintaining your quality of weapons becomes a chore rather than fun progression of scouring the >!depths!< for soldier pillars, mining diamonds if you use champion's weapons (or using rock octoroks), visiting the zonai skyforge, fighting silver lynels, and using the >!Tarrey town!< weapon unfuse

Here's a system i would have preferred

  • The master sword, champion's weapons, and hylian shield are unbreakable
  • Each of these unbreakable items have lower power initially, but get stronger as you complete the main quests
  • Items fused to these unbreakable items are also unbreakable unless
    • you manually destroy them using the 'destroy fused item' button in your inventory
    • it is a one time use fuse like a bomb flower
  • These unbreakable items cannot be dropped on the floor, but can be place in your house in weapon stands, shield stands, or bow stands (So you'll never accidentally lose them, but can reduce clutter in your inventory)

We should save the UK from their "food", and teach them proper spelling by making them a US state. This should be their state flag
