Albedo - Where Does He Shine?

So I'm one of those folks who loves meta and also my faves, Albedo being one of them. Assume I have (most) of the meta DPS and supports - where is he shining as a subdps? I can gather a hex duo at least (Durin, Mona, etc), but where are people usually putting him and with what artifact set? RN I run him 2p/2p GT and Husk because I haven't gone back to the husk trenches, lol, with R1 Uraku.

Sapphic and Achillean Solidarity: Book Edition

Hey everyone!

Our last major mod post about Sapphic September is one I find very fun: just how many MM romance authors in our genre are also writing sapphic romances!

People give their various reasons for not branching into sapphic content, and I think one way to maybe navigate some of the nervousness can be through reading authors we are familiar with, prose and tropes that they write and we are already in love with.

So today my goal is to share about some of these authors and the sapphic books they recommend you start with — maybe you’ll recognize a name or two!

Contemporary Romance

Kate Hawthorne writing as Nikki Markham, recommends starting with {Impact by Nikki Markham}

Emily Alter has written many sapphic romances, including their new angsty BDSM romance {Risk Aware by Emily Alter}

Katherine McIntyre has been writing sapphic since the beginning, such as with the first book of their Dungeons and Dating series {Strength Check by Katherine McIntyre}

Maya-Gawonii Shabazz-Saleh writes sapphic under the pen name Simone Holiday, with an enemies to lovers romance recently released {Falling in ‘96 by Simone Holiday}

M. Anderson is both author and artist, and poured that talent into the autumnal sapphic romance {The Night’s Bloom by M. Anderson}

W.A. Grace has written both superheroes and sports, and {Clinching the Play by W.A. Grace} is sapphic ice hockey!

K.A. Merikan writes a lot of dark romance, including their motorcycle club series — which has the story of Rain and Mona in {Outlaw Girls by Miss Merikan}

Paranormal Romance

Allison Temple is a long time queer author across the spectrum of romances, and her slow burn urban fantasy {Only Mostly Dead by Alli Temple} is sapphic fun!

Robin Jo Margaret has written many queer pairings, including the delightful {Blessed by the Cupid Distribution System by Robin Jo Margaret}

Beckett Krane brings the horror in monster romances, with swamp and sapphics in {Endangered by Beckett Krane}

A.A. Fairview writes many pairings, and this one has eggs. And a sugar mommy. {Mother of Pearl by A.A. Fairview}

Fantasy Romance

Briar Belmont series has pirates, demons, and sea monsters, oh my! This includes the sapphic couple in {Splinter Heart by Briar Belmont}

Imogen Pyre’s epic fantasy series has an upcoming sapphic book, with each couple integral to the plot, in {Euphonious by Imogen Pyre}

Atlas Laika set out to write “Dune but gay” in Aurethia Rising, and the sapphic seauel continues to deliver that promise in the science fantasy {Serpent Song by Atlas Laika}

Aldrea Alien writes fantasy across the gamut, and if you needed a Cinderella retelling with elves, you should read {Someone Else’s Shoes by Aldrea Alien}

Of course, I know that’s not all the authors out there writing sapphic and Achillean/MM books. Who am I missing? Who do you recommend? Shout it out below!

Ariana Nash: AI Regret and Acknowledgement

Hey yall. As we all know, generative AI usage in the book community is a pressing issue that causes a lot of folks to have to leave authors behind that they once loved because of their decision.

I had to do that a few years ago, with Ashe Moon who openly uses it for covers and marketing, and admitted to doing that years ago. Their Facebook group has a longer statement still admitting to it, but I left after that so it’d take me some time to retrieve it if they let me back in.

However today I’m talking about Ariana Nash.

A couple years ago I realized she had changed the covers on her books to well, pretty obvious AI slop. They were genuinely ugly y’all (I wish I had screenshots). She started to use it on marketing as well, such as in Instagram posts. Anecdotally, I’ve been told that when people commented on it she would delete those comments and try to ignore it.

Well, comes August 3rd, 2026. She makes an acknowledgement of her AI usage and a commitment to no longer implementing it, hiring real cover designers and artists for the future. I hesitate to call it an “apology” because it doesn’t really seem like one. She never directly says sorry or acknowledges why her AI usage was explicitly harmful to her colleagues in the MM space, and she starts out with “I’ve been accused of AI writing” — which tells me maybe she didn’t want that accusation anymore which is why she had the pivot.

However, regardless of the issues I personally have with her statement, actions do speak louder than words. Her Instagram and other marketing spaces have been completely wiped of all AI content. Her books have new great looking covers designed by real people. She has the anti-AI commitment and acknowledgement pinned on her Facebook, her largest-followed platform. That’s much better than just deleting everything and denying it ever happened.

Overall, the goal is for folks not to use generative AI. No one can go back in time and be perfect, so I’m not really here to argue about “well what she should have done…” You’re right, it shouldn’t have happened, but here we are. If we move goalposts to impossible points when asking for change, people will not change.

My discussion is both bringing news that if you’ve wanted to read Nash but are against generative AI, maybe this will cause you to give a second chance (or not, that’s fine too). Maybe you never heard of this happening and this is an example of how ever authors who have been in the genre for awhile will fall into the AI scheme. Not all are going to apologize and stop, either, and we have to acknowledge that.

What do y’all think?

✨ Sapphic September 2026 Bingo ✨

Hello everyone!

This year for September we will have multiple posts highlight sapphic works - as queer romance across the spectrum is celebrated here and sapphic fiction often does not get the same amount of support as MM/Achillean/Gay romance does. I am hoping those who are interested will participate in the Sapphic September Bingo!

I'll do a midmonth check-in and an end-of-month check-in for those participating!

The bingo we will be participating in is put on by manicfemme & evilqueenreads over on Instagram at Sapphic September Readathon.

Bingo Card

The links to all the resources - it should soon be updated with 2026 information.

Here is the Storygraph Challenge.

Some other posts we will be featuring this month may lead to finding recommendations you can use for the bingo, so keep an eye out!

Fractal Engima: AI Publisher

Hey everyone. As you know we don’t host “lists” or encourage that sort of thing around what is viewed as problematic behavior or harmful behavior because it is hard to verify certain claims for mods to manage a list. This subreddit has tried our best to allow conversation around AI usage and bringing up concerns without also fostering a witch-hunt against certain authors.

However, some just do show it straight to your face. This is a company who uses generative AI to create queer romance books (MM, MMF+, and FF) and sell them under pen names. A lot of the covers are obvious, as is the AI videos on their YouTube, which shows you how generative AI is involved in multiple steps of the process. If there is even any real human writing behind it, they clearly use it elsewhere.

Email Exchange (sourced by xfelineandferalx on Threads) in which they try to gymnastic their way around a yes or no answer about AI usage.

Fractal Enigma Author List

Some of the MM authors include: Jace Wilder, Chase Power, Milo Hart, Ames Willow and Jax Wilder.

Daily Releases Volunteer Sign-Ups

Hey everyone!

The subreddit mod team is looking for volunteers regarding posting Daily Releases.

First, big thanks to u/mother_puppy, u/joyfulblip, u/__elliebellie__, u/bones_humming, for all the work they’ve put in over years and months, taking over from when I used to do it solely myself. You’ve been such a big help to the community.

As you might have noticed, the daily posts for releases have sometimes been skipped or slowed down. This is because it is all volunteer-run, and there aren’t many people (currently in the team) available.

We would like to rectify that and see if there are any volunteers to take up this task. We have a Discord where you’ll be in touch with the mod(s) in charge of this volunteer task and a form to get information for folks sorted. The gist is this: if you’re volunteering, at least one day a week you’ll be responsible for making the daily release post. Depending on the number of volunteers, it depends on how often in the month you’ll be doing it.

We will provide a Discord for communication with other team members, the common links used to find releases, the Reddit post template, and a (WIP) Excel spreadsheet that formats things as well.

Your commitment: Once all volunteers are accounted for, posting for the day assigned as frequency requires (with an understanding, of course, that this isn’t an assembly line!), that usually can amount to a 30 min - 2hr commitment depending on the day. Tuesday is considered “publishing day” and tends to have the largest amount of books published, and the time around holidays is busy as well.

That time commitment is for:

  • Finding the new releases
  • Inputting information into the template/Excel sheet (your preference once both are available)
  • Implementing tags for each book (this requires reading the blurb)
  • Posting it to Reddit and double-checking proper format

If you’re still interested, check out the form below to sign up! The form will be open for a week, until 08/18/2026.

Non-Binary Awareness Week: Favorite Non-Binary Rep

Hello everyone!

This week begins Non-Binary Awareness Week, which is all about recognizing the non-binary identities across the spectrum of media and real life. Non-binary people struggle with not only dealing with queerphobia and transphobia, but there is the layer of invisibility for those who are unaware of or do not "believe in" non-binary identities at all. It is important we uplift the non-binary people in our lives and support them in the ways we can.

As queer romance readers (although primarily MM), this applies to us too: there are transmasculine non-binary people who feature in MM stories and other non-binary identities as well. People may have noticed there is an interesting phenomenon of how authors will advertise their MX romances in MM spaces. This can be for multiple reasons: it is an achillean (MLM) romance featuring a non-binary person who is some way aligned with masculinity-in-gender, the fact that "non-binary romance" is not a category easily tagged or accessible on storefronts or communities (for ex: the MM Romance Rec group on FB has 32.9k members, the Trans Romance Books group has 1.2k members), and finally because the author feels that is where it is best recommended.

Some people may disagree with that idea, that it should strictly be binary men talked about in MM spaces. The world isn’t that black and white though and just as sapphic spaces make space for this understanding, so do we here as well. That is why you'll often see people recommend MX romances (openly-labeled, of course).

However, today I want to know your favorite non-binary romances and non-binary authors, regardless if they're MX or not! I'll start off: Emily Alter, Kay Claire, and D.C. Emerson are all non-binary authors who write some amazing trans romances featuring non-binary characters.

Hey everyone!

This month of May has a lot of important acknowledgment “holidays”, and one of those is AAPHI, or Asian American Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander month. It is celebrated in May to recognize the contributions of folks who fall under this umbrella, and in a global internet context reached beyond American borders (while of course, including and focusing on them)!

All of this is to say, a lot of people are aware there is importance in uplifting marginalized creators in this space. Queer Asians have to deal with not only homophobia and transphobia, but racism and how that intersects — even from fellow white queer people. It is imperative we push back against the racism in our communities and take the time to listen and change.

Today, I’d like to ask for recommendations of MM authors who are AAPHI, and bonus points if you have books of theirs featuring AAPHI characters.

Some authors I recommend you check out:

CD Rachels, a Filipino queer man, who writes a lot of Filipino characters in both contemporary and paranormal romances.

Anna Wineheart, one of my personal favorites, a Chinese author who likes to write omegaverse.

Crystal Lacy, a Native Hawaiian author, who writes contemporary romances.

Stella Rainbow, an Indian author, who writes paranormal and urban fantasy romances.

V.T. Hòang, a Vietnamese queer trans man, who writes paranormal romances.

Nazri Noor, a Filipino-Malaysian queer man, who writes urban fantasy with queer romance subplots.

Whose work do you enjoy reading?

Do not suggest books by non-AAPHI people, please, even if they feature AAPHI main characters.
