Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but i’m planning to make a small portrait in watercolor for my mom’s birthday next month, but so far i’ve only dabbled with watercolor, and moreover only painted (mostly half-finished) landscapes with it.
I suppose my main question is, based on what i’ve done so far (images provided) am I good to just plow ahead to trying portraiture? or am I missing/messing up anything glaringly obvious to those of you more familiar with the medium?
Really any tips would be appreciated! I like to familiarize myself with a medium by my lonesome for the most part, but since this will be a gift I figured it wouldn’t hurt to ask.
I’m using Koi Water Colors pocket field sketch box, if that matters
