CFA Level II in 3 days

Hi everyone,

I’m sitting for CFA Level II on 23 May, and these are my mock scores so far.

My revision is almost complete now. I’m currently going through the CFAI Practice/Premium Pack questions, and I’m consistently scoring around 88–90% there. However, I feel many of those questions are relatively easier than the End-of-Chapter questions, especially because they are mostly standalone MCQs and not always vignette-style.

At the same time, the official mocks felt closer in difficulty/style to the Practice Pack than to some of the harder EOCQs.

For those who have already taken or passed Level II:

In the last 2–3 days, should I continue focusing mainly on the Practice Pack and mocks-style review, or should I still drill harder EOCQ-type questions as well?

My current plan is to focus on weak areas, formulas, ethics, and reviewing mistakes, but I’m unsure whether spending time on harder questions at this stage is useful or just unnecessary stress.

Would appreciate any guidance from recent candidates/passers.

Last Week Before CFA Level II

Just a friendly reminder to everyone appearing for the CFA Level II exam in the coming days.

You’ll see a lot of opinions online from people who have already taken the exam. Some will say it was brutal, others will say it was manageable. That’s the duality of the exam experience. The same paper can feel difficult to one person and straightforward to another depending on preparation, strengths, stress levels, and even the exam set they receive.

So don’t anchor your expectations to Reddit reactions. Go in assuming the exam will be somewhere between moderate and difficult. If it turns out easier, that’s a bonus. If it’s tough, you won’t be mentally shaken.

At this stage, protecting your composure and confidence matters more than consuming last-minute opinions online.

How Representative Are CFAI Level 2 Mocks Compared to the Actual Exam?

https://preview.redd.it/v6ahw0m3rp1h1.png?width=1761&format=png&auto=webp&s=25f61a72872f0692c53d8b25f0b6d700e59ea293

Can anyone who has passed Level 2 confirm whether the CFA Institute portal mocks, both free and premium, are actually representative of the real exam?

I’m asking because I haven’t taken mocks from other prep providers. I’ve seen many Redditors say Kaplan and MM mocks are generally trickier than the actual exam. But with the CFAI mocks, my performance has been extremely skewed. I scored 68% on Mock 1 yesterday and 90% on Mock 2 today.

The fluctuation seems to come down to whether the questions fall within my comfort zone. If they do, I perform very well. If not, the score drops sharply.

So for those who’ve taken or passed Level 2, is the actual exam more aligned with CFAI mocks, or is it closer to the trickier style of providers like Kaplan/MM?

CFA L2 final week mock scores: 75% full mock, but weak Quant/Derivatives/Econ. How should I use final 8 days?

https://preview.redd.it/xoyj6gqrv81h1.png?width=1400&format=png&auto=webp&s=c029e7fe58ca4b749f063ff88abc3bc78d14ff5f

Hi everyone,

I’m sitting for CFA Level II on May 23 and wanted some guidance for the final stretch.

I’ve taken a few mock sessions recently:

  • Mock/session 1: 34/44 = 77%
  • Mock/session 2: 32/44 = 73%
  • Combined full 88-question mock: 66/88 = 75%

The full mock was my first proper back-to-back attempt. I didn’t feel a major fatigue collapse, but I did notice that I was finishing very fast, around 50-60 minutes per 44-question session.

Approximate subject breakdown from the full mock:

  • Ethics: 12/12
  • FSA: 11/12
  • Alternatives: 7/8
  • Fixed Income: 9/12
  • PM: 9/12
  • Equity: 8/12
  • Corporate Issuers: 3/4
  • Quant: 3/8
  • Economics: 2/4
  • Derivatives: 2/4

My main weak areas seem to be Quant, Derivatives, Econ growth/convergence, and some Fixed Income/yield curve concepts. Ethics was bad in one earlier session but strong in this full mock after some drilling, so I’m still planning to keep practicing it daily.

At this point, would you recommend:

  1. More full mocks?
  2. Mostly targeted weak-area practice?
  3. Daily mixed vignettes with review?
  4. Formula review plus error-log drilling?

I’m trying not to overreact to one mock, but I also don’t want to ignore clear weak areas. Any advice from people who passed L2 would be appreciated.

CFA Level II May candidates: how are you taking leave and revising in the final week?

For working CFA Level II candidates appearing in May, how are you managing the final week?

Have you already taken study leave, or are you taking only 1-2 days before the exam?

Also, how are you revising right now when weekdays give only around 3-4 hours of actual study time? If you feel like you’ve forgotten a lot, starting from scratch seems impossible because there’s barely enough time to revise, let alone take and review mocks.

Are you prioritizing weak areas, formulas, mocks, LES/EOCQs, or just high-weight topics?

Would really appreciate hearing how others are planning the final stretch. Also, what kind of scores are you getting in mocks right now?
