Pet peeve

I wasn't sure what flair to use for this, but I assume it's appropriate.

I can't stand when people make these kinds of faces for darker skin tones. I get that if you are VERY new to custom makeup, you dont particularly know how to colour things properly, but come on now..

My problem isn't even that these faces typically have very eurocentric features, but with the colouring omg..

The face has absolutely no nose highlight, just an orange blob in the middle of it, and the lips are SO light. There is a way to tastefully make faces for darker skin tones, and then there is this. I don't know whether it's offensive or not, but it peeves me.

And this isn't exclusive to regular servers (where beginners often play) either. This screenshot was taken in a pro server, and I've seen it happen often in master servers, too.

I always see people use the same excuse of "Well, I dont know how to make faces for darker skin." Then, learn or use a tutorial if you really want to use darker skin tones.

And I can admit that you dont always have to adhere to the norm. I have a lot of darker models that have very bright highlights for trad goth facepaint looks.

I think all skin tones are beautiful, and I use a lot of different skin tones myself when making outfits, but I try to be as mindful and tasteful as possible. It bothers me when people don't even try to make it good.

TL;DR I dislike when people don't use darker skin models in a distasteful way.

Weekly boutique ratingg

As we all know, the weekly boutique is getting EXPENSIVE TwT

I (as a relatively old player) have a lot of spare cash, so it's not a big deal to me to buy all of the items, regardless of their toggles / pattern ability / versatility. But I know a bunch of players don't have that kind of cash and can't farm that much cash week after week. So, I am compiling a comprehensive post about each item in this rotation, as I've heard complaints about the similarities / prices of items.

...

_Firstly: The pants_

- Toggles: Default, Longer, Belt Only (Pictured above)

- Patterns / Textures: Only the main part of the pants can be patterned, and I don't like the way it patterns (it magnifies it a LOT)

- Price: Not bad for pants (1900)

The pants are a solid 7/10 for me

*Pros:*

Very versatile (can layered well). Honestly unique cause there aren't a lot of pants options in the game, and it has quite a unique silhouette. Unless you are a serial non-human outfit maker, I would say this is a good purchase.

*Cons:*

I hate the way it patterns, it just looks weird to me, and I wish that we had more options to pattern (like the belt). I wish we had a toggle to remove the belt or the frills.

If you have the cash, I'd say this should be the first or second thing you purchase from the weekly boutique.

...

_Then: The top_

- Toggles: Default, Option 2 (strapless), Only Undertop

- Patterns: Only the undergarment is patterable

- Price: Wowza. Very expensive.

The top is a 6/10 (unique, but the price is very high for a top)

*Pros:*

It's gorgeous and has a very unique silhouette. The undergarment also has unique straps that look very kewl, imo and I can definitely see myself using it (probably more than the actual top). I love the way the top looks layered on its own. The undergarment patterns nicely.

*Cons:*

I wish we had an option to remove the undergarment entirely. I also would like to be able to recolour the undergarment, lace, and straps separately, but that's not an option. Additionally, the fact that the top hook on the shirt is unhooked makes it look a bit messy and unpolished in my opinion, would be a higher rating if we had the option to toggle it closed completely.

If you have THAT much cash to spare, I would buy it, as it is unlike most other tops in the game >.<

...

_The bandana_

- Toggles: Bigger, Remove Fringe

- Patterns: Not patternable??

- Price: I mean.. it's not great for what it is

I'd honestly give it a 4/10

*Pros:*

It's a neck accessory, its kewl for cowboy themes ig, it's under 500 cash

*Cons:*

It doesn't have a pattern that's recolourable (like the head bandana), and it can't be patterned, which means that it cant be made very intriguing. It's kind of boring bc of that imo.. I don't have much to say because I don't think its very useful..

Unless you have a bunch of extra cash laying around.. I wouldn't recommend buying it.. :<

...

_The bag_

I posted a seperate post on the bag, because I addressed the tokyo update bag vs this bag. But essentially:

I would honestly say if you have the cash for it, you should buy it.

It gets a 9/10 from me (point deducted bc 1500 for a bag is a bit dramatic..)

Settling questions about the ruffle bag

I would honestly say if you have the cash for it, you should buy it. Obviously, if you don't have VIP, then you don't have a ruffle bag, so it's a worthy purchase if you use bags. If you have the ruffly bag from the tokyo update (VIP), then:

It might not look like it, but it is quite a unique bag. The ruffles might be similar to the one from the tokyo update, but they are VERY different.

I personally LOVE the metal chain of the new one, as well as the bone handle. It looks very kewl, imo and It's probably my favourite thing from the new weekly boutique.

*Pros:*

- I didn't like the way the one from the tokyo update looked saggy, but this one is very sturdy looking, which I love.

- Considering the recolourable aspect, i find it nice to be able to recolour the handle / strap separately from the bag, unlike with the one from the tokyo update. (The recolourable parts are: Bag, Ruffles, Chain, Bone Handle >.<)

- As for toggles, it has 3 (pictured above) where the one from the tokyo update has none, and I don't always want to hold my bag like a prop (aka with my hands)

- The ruffles on the new one also look a bit more polished imo, but that is just a nitpick. XD

*Cons:*

- It is very expensive. 1500 cash for a bag is obviously a lot for something that you probably won't use every round. Cash is hard to gather (especially for newer players) with the addition of the weekly boutique, and it's a very large amount to spend on an accessory. If you are a newer player and don't have the cash for everything from the weekly boutique, I'd recommend buying the shirt or the pants instead)

- It's just an accessory. Most players don't use bags often / in every outfit, and therefore, it shouldn't be a priority. Especially since there is already a ruffly bag.

- If you are a mostly ethereal outfit maker, I'd say that the bag is NOT worth the price unless you have enough cash for the whole weekly boutique already. The shirt, pants and bandana are way more versatile in terms of layering / patterning / adding detail to non-human outfits.

TL;DR:

If you have VIP and not a lot of pink cash: don't buy it

If you have VIP and a lot of excess cash: it's cute. What's the harm? Buy it

If you don't have VIP, and you are an older player: I'd recommend buying it

If you don't have VIP, and you are a newer player: I'd recommend focusing on the other items (aka pants and shirt) before the purse

Hi guys °○.°

I've been playing dti for a very long time, and it has quickly become my favourite activity and the thing I find peace in every day. In less than 5 months, I had ranked up from a runway queen to a glamour elite. It feels like somewhere I can express myself and be creative and see other people express themselves as well.

I have bought gamepasses (custom makeup, vip, etc) in the past, but recently, I haven't been able to afford robux. I had been wanting to buy the moonlight butterfly reworked set, and the sweet berry set, but each of them would set me back around 100 bucks and I unfortunately cannot justify spending that much on a game when I barely make 500 bucks a month, even if it is a game that I play daily.

For the same reason, I can't justify buying any DLC. My country also doesn't sell any DLC, so I would have to buy a code online. When the conversion rate is taken into account, I would have to pay around 350 - 380 bucks for a single DLC code.

There are plenty of examples of outfits, faces, and hair combos I've done / made on my profile, so I won't be attaching an image to this post.

I don't expect anything to come from this, but if anyone has an extra/ duplicate DLC that they are able to donate, or the spare robux to gift me one of the robux sets, I would be incredibly grateful.
