Hello! We’re on municipal water and it’s just terrible quality. Our water comes out of the tap tasting/smelling horrible. Not sulfury, but more like plasticy? and an egregious amount of chlorine or something. I also suspect there’s a lot of unwanted dissolved solids.

I look around on Amazon and just see so many cheap looking filters with who knows what kind of build quality and filtration power. Some look like they would contaminate your water (maybe using build materials that I wouldn’t want to use for my family’s drinking water anyway.

So I humbly come to ask my coRedditers for your informed opinions.

We rent, so i’m looking for recommendations for some better plug-in play type filter system systems or at least something that can be undone easily when moving out.

To give you an idea of where we’re coming from: In the past for our drinking water, we used to enjoy Berkey, but have since switched to springwater, sometime around the whole scandal they were dealing with.
