Lactoferrin/ contraceptive coil

Looking for anyone with experience of taking Lactoferrin alongside iron tablets to help with absorption?

I’m 6 months into taking iron tablets but still not feeling much better with a ferritin level of 19 and b12 deficiency issues.

I’m not due bloods to be retaken until October but I’m wondering if taking Lactoferrin alongside could help with increasing my absorption.

Likewise I’ve researched having the contraceptive coil fitted to decrease the heavy periods I’m experiencing which could also help with absorption.

Just looking for any success stories with making a few changes to help!

Iron deficiency journey/ guidance 🙏

Looking for any similar stories or guidance 🙏

I’m currently b12 deficient and have been receiving injections every 3 months to increase my levels but within the last 9 months I’d been feeling worse before getting better and since found out my ferritin level was 19. All be it not super low but low enough for the doctors so put me on iron tablets.

All my other blood tests came back normal or satisfactory. I’ve also been for physio and had assessments carried out to see if the issue might be neurological related but they didn’t see anything that suggested this.

Now my main symptoms have been tingling/ tightness feeling in my legs and feet. Similar to RLS that come and go in episodes. Some days I’m fine hardly notice it, some days the feeling of putting on trainers feels uncomfortable as though my shoes are too tight.

My iron levels are still abnormal and I’ve been told to continue the tablets for another 3 months.

As well as this I get light headed episodes and I seem to be getting flares up around my period.

Back story is I’ve had two c-sections with my children and ever since my periods have been very heavy/ painful.

I feel like I’m never going to be normal again and my health anxiety is just awful. The doctors gave me sertraline to try and combat the anxiety but when starting them I felt even worse/ more on edge so I stopped. I know it can take a long time but is anyone else out there going through this or come out the other side?
