New Beatbreak interview. About GIFT Arc's ending and role in the story, Miharu, future Kyo Arc and Raito's backstory
New interview from the director of Beatbreak dropped. You can find the link in Beatbreak's main account in Twitter.
Among everything, we're told some interesting stuff about the purpose of GIFT Arc, which was so Glowing Dawn became more aware of the problems of this world in preparation for the final arc. As we get closer to it, their answer to how create a future for humans and Digimon will be very important.
Miharu's age was chosen as 13 because otherwise the director doesn't think she could atone for all her crimes and have a future and second chance after everything she did. They wanted to portray her as a yet immature yet vulnerable minor. While her final scene was bittersweet, the intention was to show her heart was saved and she can still atone for her sins.
Also, they warn people to be ready for Kyo Arc, which will be very heavy, even after coming from Miharu's backstory in GIFT Arc. They purposedly avoided explaining aspects of Kyo such as his chest scars and his bracelet in preparation to this, the so called Glowing Dawn's greatest crisis. In order to correctly portraying this, they needed to build Glowing Dawn as a family before.
They also talked about Maki's episode and the return of Tactics Team 7 in episode 33.
In reference to Team 7, they admit there's not enough time to clearly explain all the characters backstories, so they made it so viewers could at least see the relationship between T7 members. However, as both Granit and Hotaruko's backstories were, in fact, clearly shown and explained, this whole part is in fact talking especifically about Raito and his comparatively missing background and backstory, where apart from being a school genius we don't know any circumstances about family, how Monodramon was born, how it affected Raito and how he ended recruited by Naito. This seems like an admission they won't explain more while being aware it's missing.
