Homelessness in Stratford
Saw an unhoused/struggling lady looking for food in the trash cans when I was in line at Burger King drive through this evening. It broke my heart, no one should be subjected to doing this, especially a woman in her 50s alone. I fished out whatever bit of cash I had on me at the time and gave it to her.
My question is as follows, after that documentary about homelessness in Stratford came out, has anything been done to tackle the problem? Any responses from city officials? Looking to get input from people that would be in the know, like people who are working at programs that help, volunteers at St Paul's, or people who work with the city. Are we any closer to getting a dedicated women's and men's shelter?
Not looking for the usual trolls that blame people's circumstances on """bad choices and drugs""" or the usual "they ship them out to other cities" responses.
