Looking for suggestions!!
Hi! We just arrived in St Lucia for a week (until Friday Aug 21st) and are looking for tips! We’re a family of 2 adults and 3 kids aged 9,13, and 15 staying in a villa near the Rabot hotel and we have a rental car.
We’re on a bit of a budget (blew it all on the villa!), and are hoping for some recommendations for lesser known activities, with an emphasis on local culture, food and agriculture, unusual attractions, things to do in the various towns, just generally more off the beaten path stuff. We’ve already made a list of all the main attractions, so looking for stuff that doesn’t necessarily show up on the blogs.
We’re aware of the main beaches, but hoping to maybe find a more chill small beach, and love snorkeling (brought our own gear) but it doesn’t need to be the island’s best or prettiest. Anywhere that’s reasonably calm where we can see underwater would be fine.
Since we’re 5 people, boat rides are probably out, since even at like, 100 a person, that’s really outside our budget, but if anyone has any ideas, we would LOVE to get out on the water, even just for a bit.
We have a full kitchen so will eat at home a lot but would love to hear about affordable restaurants as well. I figure we should do ok if we stick to places that have menus priced in EC, so I’m focusing on looking for those!
It’s supposed to be rainy on and off all day today, so we’re thinking it might be a good day to make the road trip up to Rodney Bay and check out stuff along the way.
Thanks in advance for any advice! And feel free to DM me if you have secrets you don’t want to share with the whole world ;)
