Seeking help with receiving LRPT signal
Hello everyone! I am a newbie in this field, trying to capture an LRPT signal for any kind of photo from the Meteor M2-3 for my school project. I have been failing quite badly, and would love some help from people who have gone through a similar process!
My core problem is that when I begin recording a pass, I get basically no signal from the satellite. The spectrum simply shows noise, with no indication of a satellite passing above.
I have followed this tutorial very closely, used the exact settings in SatDump as requested, and I even made a homemade V dipole out of a Banana to SMA adapter and speaker wire to the dimensions specified in the tutorial. I am using a Nooelec RTL-SDR, and I am able to receive FM radio just fine.
Am I doing something wrong? My current setup is very janky, but I would hope to get at least some signal from my apartment's rooftop on a 70+ elevation pass. I have provided some photos of what my setup currently looks like with a photo of what the spectrum looked like earlier with a near overhead pass. Any help would be appreciated, I really want to avoid switching topics for my project since this has been extremely fun to explore so far. Thank you.
