WTAF, Alexa? "No alarm set" Really?

I bought an Echo Dot four or five years ago to use mostly as a bedroom clock radio. For four of five years it did those functions mostly well. I've had a weekend alarm set for all of that time. This morning, I wake up a few minutes after the alarm should have gone off. I asked Alexa why my weekend alarm didn't go off. She responded that I have never had a weekend alarm on this Echo and would I like to set one up? WTF? Can I trust this thing to run my alarms now. or will they possibly disappear into the ether like this one did.

To cap my frustration, I went to the Amazon Digital and Device Forum to complain, and to see if others had the same issue, and it wouldn't let me enter the question! It kept telling me that "personal information like names" was in my question. The only name used was "Alexa." I edited it to remove that, and still it wouldn't let me enter it.

Are there really "no stupid questions"? Let me test that.

Getting my stuff together for my first shake-out ride and camp, and two questions come to mind. My tent is not free-standing, so staking is going to be a big deal.

Do bike tourers carry a hammer with them? Or rely on rocks being available?

Thinking of tools, do people carry a little shovel or trowel with them, to bury, well, "stuff"?
