My friend (Friend 1) has lived in an apartment for like 7+ years.

Her friend (Friend 2) has lived with her as an occupant for over a year. She is not on the lease.

Friend 1 plans to move at some point towards the end of the year.

Im potentially considering moving in with Friend 2 when that happens but I dont want to leave my place with everything up in the air.

Should/can friend 1 add friend 2 to the lease now ?
Can I move in later and be added to the lease?

I believe the rent is pretty reasonable due to the original lease being so old , so I think everybody is trying to just keep rent as low as possible
