Hey guys! I hope this isn’t a silly question 😭 Since upperclassmen choose rooms first, is it basically impossible to get an apartment-style dorm as a freshman if you’re not in honors housing? I figured most people would go for the extra privacy if they had the chance, so I’m trying to figure out whether I should keep my hopes up for registration. Thanks!!
Hello! I’m an incoming freshman for Fall 2026. I just took my Calc BC exam, but honestly, I’m not confident that I’ll get a 4. I wouldn’t mind studying over the summer to take a placement test (especially since Units 9 and 10 of BC still confuse me, so I wanted to review them anyway).
Should I study and try to skip Calc II, or should I just take the class? I’ve heard some unpleasant things about Calc II at Georgia Tech, so I’d really like to earn the credit if possible. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

I plan to keep applying during my freshman year of college, but I’m a little confused about how merit-based scholarships work for first‑semester freshmen. Since you don’t have any completed college courses yet, what do scholarship committees typically use to evaluate you? Do they rely on your high school transcript, or are you mostly limited to need‑based awards at that point? Thank you!
