I just started 2nd year in my degree and would love to grow my social circle

I started mid year entry last year at UOA and had a lot of anxiety going into my first year, especially since I just moved to the city that same year. I have classmates and acquaintances but never quite established friendships.

I’ve seen people say Adelaide is cliquey and everyone seems to already be in their established groups that they hardly stray from, though idk how true this is.

Either way, I’d like to try out some more clubs and attend more events to meet new people - any recommendations?

Hi I’m one of the many students who got fucked over by the merger. I’m a media student majoring in visual design (UOA major that is no longer offered)

I started mid year 2025. The merger delayed my study plan and even when I got it, it was incorrect. My course director eventually corrected my classes and emailed me the list.

When I look at my enrolment it lists my major as unspecified despite my plan being for that major - does anyone know if this is the case for all majors that are no longer offered or has something else likely messed up?

This has been an issue a while - one of my neighbours does this shit where he screams at the top of his lungs. For a while we thought he might be a streamer or something but even then it’s a lot. It’s tricky to tell what window it’s coming from because it’s a complex.

It’s not consistent but tends to happen most weeks. For the past about 3 nights for example around 10 pm - 2 am you can hear him just shouting stuff. Window closed or not I’m hearing it from my room. It even happens during the day - this time it was some like maniacal sounding laughter hella loud. I don’t really gaf during the day but past midnight is the issue.

I’m not sure whether I contact council or like SAPOL. That feels super extra tho I don’t wanna waste anyone’s time.

Anyone else been in the same boat and how’d you sort it? Cuz sticking my speaker out the window full volume telling him to shut the fuck up didn’t do anything unfortunately.
