What Did You Think About the Banana Bowl?

Let’s get into it! I’d love to hear your thoughts on last night. Just to preface, I’m proud of the teams and the performance they all worked really hard to put on. Any negative opinions I share, I’m not trying to take away from that.

- the game itself was pretty boring, as a lot of low scoring games are.

- I know they had the guest stars because it’s the Banana Bowl, but I didn’t care about any of them until the Jonas Brothers. I missed the players doing their own walkups. Unfortunately, a lot of people also don’t sound great live (it seems the field is hard to sing on with echos and such). I hope this was only because it was a special game, and not the way Banana Ball is going in the future. I watch for the players.

- the best pre-9th inning integration of players with the special guests was Telly, Jake, and Ponce with Lindsey Sterling. Loved that cameo.

- I think I need to listen to all the original songs more, but I wasn’t loving PL4L. Curious where they will use that song next season.

- I was happy they featured all of the teams. Great publicity for them.

- I was missing a little personality in the booth tonight. I know they called it that way bc it was a big broadcast, but I love BB for the antics.

- I’m a huge Jonas Brothers fan, so that redeemed the whole evening for me, and I loved that they got all the teams involved.

- the song and moment “Look What We’ve Made” was good and touching.

- I’m glad the Tailgaters won. After the playoffs, I think it’s better for the optics.

- What was with the golden throne, crowns, and robes? I laughed out loud! They’re going to transport that thing to all the games? Were the players embarrassed to put those things on? I know BB loves theatrics but … 🤣

Equalizer Point and Trick Plays

I’m sure someone who is into the stats can answer this. How many games have the PAs lost this year that can ultimately be attributed to the equalizer point (like last night)? I’m curious how much it’s hurting them this year.

If all the teams get an equal number of “home games”, why is the equalizer point needed? Is it just to encourage the teams to do trick plays? Is home team advantage really a thing when both teams have traveled, both teams get involved with entertainment and signing, etc.?

Thoughts on why PAs are lacking on trick plays? The PAs are mostly veterans … did they not used to do trick plays back in 22/23?

Dancing with the Stars Premiere

Posted on the Bananas page, but curious what PA fans think. Who is watching for Jackson tonight? I haven’t watched DWTS in over a decade, minus dances here and there on social media. I’m definitely going to watch Jackson’s dances though and vote for him!

Has anyone seen any players’ having watch parties? Also FYI, I just looked up the voting rules, and voting is pretty much only open during the live show! I’ll have to set a reminder on my phone as I doubt I’ll typically watch it live.

I hope Banana Ball fans vote in support of Jackson! Personally I’m a PA girl (but still really like Olson), but I’m also hoping if Jackson does well, it will bode well for other players to be on in the future.

Bret & Brady’s Big Foot Outfits

Did you guys see Bret and Brady’s matching Big Foot outfits? I have no one to send this masterpiece to, so I had to post it here. They’re hilarious. Each has a video, so go check it out if you haven’t. If you need context, there is a short on The Other Guys Unscripted where they are fighting about Big Foot’s existence.
