Did we get rattled at? [Mt Shasta, NorCal]

Meta.ai (Rattlesnake) and Gemini (Gopher) can’t agree—so looking for help here.

Snake was sunbathing in the middle of the trail, we almost stepped on it. It clearly got scared, moved to the side under a bush. It then noticed we were watching it and started to coil up. We moved on, warning other hikers.
