[Landlord US-CA] Renting to tenants -- no tax returns

We are trying to rent our home first time and so far running into tenants who have not filed tax returns (has happened twice, the fist one backed out). The latest application is from couples who are unmarried and are able to show W2 and Bank account details but refusing to share the tax returns.
Is it necessary to look at the tax returns?

Financial advisor being nosey in my personal life

I left my job and the financial advisor from Fidelity (401K default financial advisor) called me just to check why I left my job and where I am going next. I thought it was being too nosey and borderline creepy. Is this normal? Time to change the FA? How?
