There was a gross taste in my mouth and I was trying to clean my mouth with salt water. A MASSIVE PIECE OF FLESH CAME OUT OF MY MOUTH AND NOW THERE’S A GIANT HOLE IN MY TOP LEFT GUM. What do I do?!? The surgeon doesn’t open until Monday..

What is going on with my snake? Every so often, after he eats and has a bowel movement it STINKS so bad. Like to the point I can’t enter the room for a few days. I clean up his droppings and urine immediately, and thoroughly clean the area. There’s no way I’ve missed anything.

Has anyone else experienced this? Am I doing something wrong, and is this a sign of illness?

I even open a window and use an air purifier.

Edit: Solved, I brought it up to my mom and she admitted she snuck him an extra mouse because she said he had been looking around still (asked her to feed him because I’m recovering from wisdom tooth surgery). Explained to her it’s spring and he’s more active, and he will also eat more than he should because kingsnakes are food motivated. In the past when I’ve tried to alter his diet so he has more, this strange smell has happened too.

I’m calling my surgeon Monday because I can see the tooth wall 😓 this is day 4 I believe. They did give me a paper that explains I may feel sharp protrusions near the site, which are the walls that supported the tooth and will smooth out on their own. But I feel like it’s different if it pokes through.

I don’t think it’s dry socket, because my mouth doesn’t stink and although it hurts a bit, it responds to pain meds. My face was super swollen yesterday, and when it went down today this hole was bigger than it had been. Maybe I accidentally dislodged the blood clot?

I’m not looking for medical advice, I’m definitely monitoring it and contacting the surgeon’s office on Monday! But I’m wondering if anyone has went through anything similar?
