When Results Day comes dont give up
Ik it's still 2 months away however I want to give people a chance to ask questions and have time to reply, I have just finished my 1st year at the university of york studying computer science and originally my application to york got denied however I got in through clearing. My story got some traction in a thread so I decided ill make a post... No matter where you applied as your first choice if you get an email from your insurance that u have been accepted just know your primary has declined you HOWEVER ITS NOT THE END OF THE WORLD...
Please call the clearing line of your primary as soon as you get your hands on your results make sure u have ur ucas number noted down and course code to make the process as quick as possible because chances are if you only narrowly missed requirements they will still take you!!! Last year i sat my A-levels and ended up getting BCCU (Polish, maths, computer science, physics respectiveky) however I still managed to get into uni of yokr after some talking on the clearing line (The usual course requirements were AAA btw) To give you a long story short since this post is already getting long have a sob story and hopefully you have high predicted grades. My predicted grades were AABB. When on the line I told them how me and my ex (gf at the time) broke up a day before my a levels and how it ruined my mental health right before exams etc. etc. thanks to this sob story (which was true however a little exagerated) i got my place at my dream uni and now I will be working on the clearing lines on the 13t and 14th so hey if any of you get on a call with uni of york clearing you might run into me.
TLDR: even if your first choice rejected you its not over give clearing a shot and you have a chance to actually get a spot - ask any uni / ucas related questions and I'll try my best to answer
