Styles change all the time, I know. But this is sus right?
Letter from London (manuscript port of entry rate July 5, 1774) to merchant John Langdon in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Just months later on Dec 14, 1774 he was part of a group of patriots who stormed Fort William and Mary to seize gunpowder and weapons in response to fears of British control over military stores. This event marked one of the first overt acts of the American Revolutionary War.
Langdon would go on to be one of the signers of the U.S. Constitution on September 17, 1787.
Unsure of the letter’s contents but my curiosity is piqued 🤔
