When did you stop doing Anki?
I’ve been studying Japanese for almost two years now, reached 22k cards in Anki, passed N1, and spent some time studying in Japan too.
Lately though, I barely review my cards anymore. I don’t really feel motivated to keep up the daily SRS routine.
Part of me feels like maybe that’s fine? I can already use Japanese at a level I’m happy with, and at this point reviews feel more like maintenance than learning. I still consume Japanese stuff normally, just without grinding Anki every day.
I’m kind of considering stopping entirely, or at least not treating it like an obligation anymore.
For people who got to an advanced level: did you eventually stop doing SRS? Did your Japanese get noticeably worse afterward, or was regular exposure enough?
