In dire need of advice, materials, or both.

Hello,

I recently landed my first Social Studies job; however, it's as a teacher in a private Psychiatric Hospital for children and I'm being expected to teach grades level 6-12 every single day. I have a lot of materials from my student teaching, other teachers, classroom observations and etc; however, theres 0 chance I can effectively craft and create lessons & materials for 6 different grade levels every single day.

If any other Social Studies teachers would be willing to tell me where they find their materials, tips or tricks on how to create materials, or even if you are willing to send me and share materials with me it would be much obliged.

I like to try and make everything myself and to make sure I am well versed in the content im teaching, but I just dont think I can effectively plan ahead without sacraficing other commitments to my wife, family, and friends.

Any help is much, much, much obliged!

288 Year old Deutsch coin in my change.

As the title states,

I was working my job like normal and when I went to give a women her change I noticed there was a small thin dime looking thing inbetween the ¢4 I was giving her. Original she was going to take it but realized it wasnt a penny and handed it back to me saying “take this”

Thinking nothing of it I pocketed the “non-coin” and finished my shift. It was only until I got home and looked closer that I damn near jumped out of my clothes.

A German Shilling from The City State of Hamburger (Hamburg) and its from 1738?!?!

I feel bad for the collector who accidentally sent that one into the coin star, but as an aspiring history teacher this is the absolute BEST way to end a shift!

Do kids actually remember student teachers?

I finished my student teaching assignment today and it was such a bitter sweet experience.

I had lots of ups and downs, late nights, and all around just tiring days, but I loved my experience and was incredibly lucky to have students who so passionately cared for me.

I taught in my district that I graduated from and my Sophmores I promised I would see them at graduation in 2 years, but for my 6th graders they have 6 years until they graduate.

I want to watch them grow but there are currently no jobs in the district. Im curious have any teachers ever returned to old districts many years later after student teaching and had sweet encounters with their students?

I had the kids sign a shirt with their names and my goal is to wear it to their graduation in 6 years!
