I game on the Xbox series x. I bought Elden ring a few days ago. I just have no idea what’s so great about it? I have no idea what to do, where to go, or the objective? I started with Vagabond. Am I literally just supposed to explore and level up? I just want to find that 1 game to really enjoy because I’m just really pick with what games I like. I really want to enjoy this game but what’s the hype behind this?

Edit 1: I’ve never ever played a souls game. I’ve played mostly fast paced shooters like COD but I did really enjoy ghost of Tsushima. Probably one of my top games. I did like RDR2, Halo up to reach was good, and I think that’s really it. No game was ever like WOW except Ghost of Tsushima.

Edit 2: I am like just at the beginning of the game lol. I entered this cave with a bunch of wolves. I was able to kill the wolves just not the wolf guy or whatever. He just brutally kicks my ass.

So I have the Xbox series x. I miss gaming and just want to be able to get some me time. Not think of work. Kids asleep. Wife watching her show. I haven’t gamed in a few months just because work is busy. I can probably game for about an hour maybe 2 at night. I’m a very weird gamer in the sense where I am so damn picky I seriously do not truly enjoy playing most games. Either it’s boring, slow or maybe I’m just burnt out and not focusing. Some games I did enjoy were
ghost of Tsushima (when I had the PS5 but I really enjoyed this one probably because I also one day want to go to Japan lol),
RDR2 (but now it’s boring and I’m only 30% completed lol)
Halo (First 3 and Reach)
Call of duty warzone (I probably played that for like 5yrs straight with friends but now eh)

Edited: Thinking of giving Elden ring a shot. It’s $25 lol

I think that’s about it. Again I’m super picky. I’m open to all suggestions. Let me know why you enjoy the game you suggest and I’ll definitely do my best to give it a shot. I’ll let you know if I played it and what my thoughts were.

So I just went and picked up Elden ring for $25. I am going to delete all the other games I have on my Xbox because I think that’s also overwhelming me. My 3 game rotation is going to different genres. Which are Forza Horizon 6, Elden Ring and Clair Obscur expedition 33. Let me know thoughts or if I should replace one and why! Excited for this rotation I think lol
