Issues with RetroArch on RG476H/GammaOS

Moin!

TL;DR: RetroArch doesn't start games anymore. And if the Menu/Back button doesn't bring up the Quick Menu.

I got myself the mentioned RG476H and love it. After a short hesitation (my game library is RetroPie-compatible) I flashed GammaOS and re-scraped my games in Daijisho and was happy.

I even added Dosbox (Pure) and played Commander Keen and other.

Today I noticed that the Home button didn't open the RetroArch Quick Menu anymore, which was weird. (L3+R3 does the same, but I didn't have to use that before.) I tried stating a GBA game that worked before and it didn't even start up (it showed only the RetroArch logo). I also tried open RetroArch from the Apps section and it gave me a black screen.

I restarted the console (twice) and I could open some Atari game, but the Home button still didn't bring up the Quick Menu.

I tried to rebind the home key in RetroArch, but apparently I have to hold the button for a second for it to work. But that exits RetroArch...

So, with a heavy heart, I deleted the RetroArch system files, restarted the console, tried to start games, remembered I probably have to reinstall the Cores, tried to find the correct ones and now...

I still get stuck on the RA logo when I try to start a game.

Now I feel stuck and frustrated. What went wrong? Did I break anything? How can I fix things (without losing too much progress)?

I see your Langschlitztoaster and raise my Doppellangschlitztoaster

Toasts up to 4 slices of toast or 2 slices of real Brot at the same time.

I found my old floppy disk with my save files (~2000)

On there were save files for:

  • Broken Sword 1+2
  • Discworld 2
  • Discworld Noir
  • The Feeble Files
  • Teen Agent
  • Sherlock Holmes 1+2 (Serrated Scalpel + Rose Tattoo)
  • Leonardo - The Inventor
  • Monkey Island 1+2
  • Sam & Max
  • Simon the Sorcerer 1+2
  • Toonstruck
  • Gene Machine
  • Woodruff
  • Rent-a-Hero
  • Fable (1996)
  • Zak McKracken
  • Dunkle Schatten 3
  • Sabrina the Teenage Witch - Spellbound
  • Voodoo Kid
  • Bud Tucker in Double Trouble

I zipped them and stored them on this floppy disk. I'm pretty sure the disk isn't readable anymore. But I still have the files and still backup the save files of every game I play as little time capsules.

I remember I couldn't store the save files of The Longest Journey on there because they were enormous. I still have the *.ace files, because it was slightly smaller than a zip file. But even that is 1.2 MB.
