Currently I have a 5490 (connected directly to the fibre cable). It's been out of support for security updates for years.

So I'd like to replace it either with 5690 Pro or a 7690. My ISP (Luxembourg online) will give ne a fibre to DSL box for free.

I understand they are comparable, with the 5690 Pro being maybe slightly better, although for me probably won't make much difference.

But I would like advice on which of those two is likely to get longer term security updates. I don't want to have to buy a new model in three years time due to lack of security updates.
