My 2001 1st gen matching serials has a weird serial number. I was told by a buyer it was a 2002 model as the serial is M8513X/A as he said it should be an M8541. But on the device itself it says M8541. Can anyone tell me what it is?

Time to move on from collecting old phones. This one was special. Even has the original sales bag from 2007.

I'm keeping my bought new on day 1 gen 3 but the gen 1 is up for sale.
