De-electrifying, re-oiling lamps
Has anyone acquired an electrified lamp and turned it back into an oil burner? I have my eye an electric one I'd rather it burned oil.

Thinking that we often find a really cool piece out there and post it as a Grail score. Regardless if it was known Grail prior to acquisition or so cool it deserved to be called a Grail piece, what piece is your true Grail item that you don't have yet?
For me, it'd simply be a nice Murano goose or duck. Saw one once at a reasonable (not great) price and left it because we switched cars for the day and my 395 was in the other car. It's living rent free in my head.
Name it here and we can celebrate as they're discovered in the future.
Seeing in the earlier post that opossums don't eat ticks like we thought

Opossum is back on the menu, boys!
This is in a mid 70s edition of The Joy of Cooking. Interestingly, the game is much more "exotic"? in this version than the 1950 version I have (*only* deer, rabbit, squirrel, no opossum, raccoon, etc, in that version)
I'm seriously going to trap one from under my shed to try this.
Visited the Peshtigo Fire Museum today. Saw this beauty.
Auction score. Late 30s/early 40s Aladdin Washington Drape. $56 USD + 15% auction fee and some tax. Mantle and oil ordered.
I forgot to use lens to see if the Aladdin lamp might glow during bidding. I was willing to live with it seeing the authentic knob. Did not know if the hurricane would be original. Pleasant surprise it is (or at least has Aladdin Mark. Detents fit well.). Not the glowiest/spiciest piece, but one I'm likely to use the most.
Google couldn't tell me much about the other one, but did seem unlikely that it would glow. And it doesn't. For $25, it was worth the gamble. Nice looking piece in good shape. I like to get them working and use for ambience. Always better conversation pieces if they're lit.
I went to charge my Wurkkos HD50 where some usb-c chargers don't fit and I thought it'd sure be nice if it had the FFL patent (-pending?) magnetic charging port. Got me wondering what collaborations do you think would be fruitful? If someone could help Streamlight increase output and CRI in their poly tac line and add click-to-check-voltage, that'd be swell.
We used to have a hot tub in the deck. Secured the 240V in case we ever got another one. It's perfectly situated as a solar connection point. When my state passes balcony solar, will I be able to tie into that with a 240V output inverter?
