A year on with the Kobo Clara BW
I posted about my then new Kobo Clara BW around this time last year while I was on holiday, so I thought it was worth a little update.
A year later it's travelled all over Europe with me and it's probably been the best bit of tech I've bought in a long time.
The biggest surprise has been how much more I've read over the last 12 months. Instead of scrolling on my phone, I find myself picking it up whenever I've got 10 or 15 minutes. I've got through more books in the last year than I had in years before.
I did crack the screen when it was in my pocket, but replacing it was reasonably easy and I've also 3D printed a protective cover, which has been brilliant and gives me a lot more confidence when I'm traveling with it. Here's the link if you want to print it: https://makerworld.com/models/1744253?appSharePlatform=copy
It's light, the battery seems to last forever, and it can fit into my pocket. If I lost it tomorrow, I'd buy another Clara BW in a second.
W59 & Ollee module = my perfect holiday watch
I went with the W59 as I wanted the extra confidence of the 50 m water resistance, while keeping that classic Casio look.
It's been on my wrist every day on holiday: swimming in the sea, in the pool, on the beach and in the heat (>32C) and it's been absolutely faultless. It's light and comfortable which is exactly what I want when I'm travelling.
I've aslo fitted an Ollee module, which has been a great upgrade!
First trip for my new Casio A159 with Ollee Watch
Took my A159WA-1D on its first flight today and off for a meeting.
I've put an Ollee Watch module into it and I'm genuinely impressed. Better backlight, a extra features (countdown timers), and it still keeps the classic Casio look that made me buy it in the first place. Its also really easy to sync to the new time zone using the app.
I'm also really enjoying the bracelet on the A159. I know some people aren't fans of it but I think it suits the watch perfectly and it's been more comfortable than I expected (no missing arm hairs).
For me it's the best of both worlds: classic Casio styling with a few modern upgrades hidden inside.
Anyone else running an Ollie module in an A159?

Finally warm enough in Scotland to get the Solo Stove out!
After what felt like 11 months of winter, rain, sideways rain, weather… we’ve made it. First proper burn of the year in the garden and morale has increased dramatically.
