A Hot Rooster's Last Revenge (Maatam Phoul Essay)

Hello, again. I hope this beautiful community will allow me to share my essay with everyone here. Like I said in my previous post, I have found great joy in sharing my writing with a community that is solely kashmiri, as the essays that I write on, are solely on the themes of Kashmiri life and the lives of animals in it. In this essay, I think of the rooster were recently slaughtered and consumed. When an animal or a bird lives with you for a long time, it is impossible to not cultivate a bond with them. As such, when sometimes they pass away because of illness or by butcher's doing, the mind keeps going back to the moments in the past when the animal was alive and having a good time living. In my garden, we often bury roosters, cats, pigeons, etc, and it almost always comes with a heavy feeling. Though over the years, it has changed my perspective on life itself - making me more resilient, I would say, to the nature of living.

I hope you enjoy (at the lack of a better word) reading this essay. Thank you.
