Asking for friends not on reddit. Plan to visit china (240 hour visa free transit, personal trip), one is a Federal Employee China born, one is a federal contractor. Any problem going through China border because work as a federal employee? Does border control ask questions about working for government? What happens if asked and they say working for US gov? They are concerned about what happens in China and don't want to be harassed or exit banned in China. No security clearance/US agency has no concern. Thanks.

Ask for a friend (not on reddit) who has a sick parent in China. He is a patent examiner and originally from China, and has got China visa multiple times before (as an engineer in private company). His China visa expired and needs a new one. Now that he is a government worker, he was told it's harder to get the visa. Does he need a HR letter saying "the employee is traveling strictly on personal leave for vacation purposes"? Thanks.
There are two lines of numbers and letters (together with <<<<) at the bottom of the visa sticker. A number is peeled off from that and is missing. Is the visa usable, or needs to be replaced?
