The psychology of dating a serial killer

Hi all,

Long time lurker of this sub, first time writer-in. I wanted some opinions on the seemingly 'normal' or banal relationships (male) serial killers often have with girlfriends or spouses. I'm writing a short fictional story about the wife of a serial killer and wondered if anyone might have some insight or can point in the direction of a woman who has shared that experience publicly. I've been looking up some well known killers but would be interested to hear some thoughts or theories on how these men act in courtship vs their married life.

Obviously I know serials are often experts at masking inner thoughts and their crimes even to their loved ones but I often wonder how they would date and how would they convince someone to marry them. Do you think any of their true colours leak out?

Looking for feedback on initial pages: Mystery, thriller fiction

NSFW mentions: very brief mention of sex and nudity

Page 1

Page 2

Hi all,

Long time lurker on this sub. I'm looking for some feedback on the first two pages of a short story I'm writing (I'm at 4000 words right now, looking to stay under 5000). The genre I would place the story in would be mystery/thriller/contemporary and you would obviously not be able to tell within the first two pages, but just wanted to mention that for context.

The feedback I'm looking for:

- does it flow?

- does it keep your interest? where in the story potentially loses your interest?

- do I need more descriptive sentences?

- general first impressions

- any glaring grammatical or spelling errors

I might also be looking for a beta reader after I feel like I've completed the ending to my satisfaction. So if anyone is interested in reading on please let me know!

Thanks in advance, hopefully I won't be raked over the coals for this. :)

Gimme your writing exercise secrets!

Hi all,

Just curious about if anyone else uses any writing exercises when you're unsure of what to write or are stuck when writing. I was watching an interview with Gillian Flynn who suggested that when you feel stuck you should write from a different character's perspective. It really got me moving again!

But it also got me wondering if anyone else has any good ideas along those lines? Or if anyone has just fun go to prompts for getting the words flowing.

UDIM workflow when creating Sims 4 cc?

Hi!

I'm working on my first CC release and I'm curious about the CC workflow, I notice that some clutter meshes have multiple meshes in one. I've attached a sample here. I'm wondering if people are using a UDIM workflow to texture the different meshes or is everything unwrapped onto one tile?

From what I've checked out myself it seems like only one UV texture is used per package/mesh but was just wondering if anyone has used more than one UV.

Thanks!

Considering tile setting apprenticeship

hi all!
looking for any info on the process for a tile setting apprenticeship. Im under 30 and looking to get into a skilled trade after many years in the service industry. Tile setting appealed to me because I am a very visual and creative person with a degree in design. Ive heard you can get more niche in a tile setting and Im really curious about that.

But just would like to hear about the experience of tile setters in general, what are the days like? whats the pay like? etc.
Especially interested in hearing from any women in the trade!
