Random thought: AI is doing to engineering what society did to marketing.

As a marketer, watching the AI boom feels like déjà vu. Anyone else see the parallel to how people treated marketing?

To preface, I’m not an engineer. I’m someone who usually sits at the intersection of marketing, technology and data.

From where I sit, it feels like AI is doing to engineering what everyone historically did to marketing: making people on the outside look at it and think, "How hard can it be? I could totally do that myself."

Is the Internal Governance + Auditor model enough?

I’ve been reflecting on how we currently govern AI and automated systems. Most enterprises are relying on a combination of in-house governance tools and external auditors to validate their decisions.

Lately, I’ve been questioning if that’s actually enough to withstand legal or regulatory scrutiny. If an organization has the technical capability to manipulate its own internal logs, does that evidence lose its weight in a court of law?

Keen to hear your thoughts.

Are you for or against AI?

Until recently, my job was helping a large organisation transition into an agentic enterprise. Right before I left, I finished building the actual strategy and blueprint to make it a reality.

I’ve since used my downtime to reflect on the morality of it all, wrestling with whether I’m ultimately "for" or "against" AI. Instead of picking a side, I chose neutrality.

That reflection has led me to change how I want to position myself in the market. Rather than focusing on internal corporate governance, I want to sit completely outside an organisation as an independent witness, providing the objective, external evidence that auditors, regulators, and governance teams need when things go wrong.

I’ve just wrapped up V1 of a solution that does exactly this. I’m happy to share more details if anyone wants to learn more, but mostly I'm curious about your perspective, and where you see things going.

Equally, keen to hear which side of the fence you are currently finding yourself on? For or against AI?

Currently navigating a redundancy. How are you all keeping the momentum going?

I was made redundant a couple of weeks ago. Since then, I’ve been trying to make the most of the opportunity by networking, interviewing, and prioritising my health and well-being. I’ve also been leaning heavily into my entrepreneurial side and seeing if I can make anything from it.

While it’s definitely not all magical, I’m doing my best to stay productive, while figuring out how best to position myself in the market.

I’m curious, how is everyone else navigating it given the market conditions. Any tips for staying sane or keeping the professional momentum up while in between roles?

Seeking collaboration partners - Solving for transparency in agentic AI.

Hi all,

I'm looking to partner with a select few organisations to help design and build a solution for the AI transparency gap.

As organizations transition to agentic decisioning, it’s becoming clear that relying on internal platform logs won't suffice for future regulatory requirements.

I’m hoping to sanity check my approach with those closest to the problem, specifically in risk, compliance, or AI governance, to help define and pressure test my solution for automated decisioning.

If you're interested in collaborating, drop a comment or DM me.

WFH / what are you wearing on your feet all day?

I’ve been working remotely lately, and I’m struggling to find a balance with what to wear on my feet. Shoes, slippers, or socks?

Does anyone else deal with this? What’s your go-to setup?
