Local, Non-Touristy Place to Stay in Seoul?

Local, Non-touristy Place to Stay in Seoul

My partner and I are visiting Seoul in October. I’m Korean and have visited before, but it’s my partner’s first time. We’re in our 30s, hate busy, touristy areas and would prefer a quiet, chill, local-vibe to the neighborhood. We don’t love overly trendy, consumer driven areas. We love the arts, cinema, thrifting, nature, and hole in the wall spots.

Any advice on where to stay?

Best downtown, old-school luxury hotel for birthday surprise?

Best Downtown Hotel?

Looking to surprise my partner for his birthday with a couple nights in at a nice hotel Chicago (he currently commutes daily from the suburbs for work). Will take him out for a nice dinner, but need advice on which hotel would be good for him; see stipulations below:

\-Old-school feel
\-Downtown location
\-Less than $600 per night

Was considering the Chicago Athletic Association, but then read some poor reviews. Any tips greatly welcome! Thank you!

Is this flat top fixable?

In-laws left this grill out all winter and are wondering if it’s fixable…rust is removable but it looks like the coating is peeling on the upper left part of the flattop?

***

Just texted them to keep it and I’ll fix it up next weekend. Thanks for the advice, everyone! Flattop breakfast at the in-laws incoming 🫡

I (31F, Asian American) had a chunk of hair break off in 2020 after contracting COVID. Since then, I’ve noticed my hair progressively thinning.

It’s gotten so bad now that it’s noticeable from the front and back. It looks very intense when my hair is wet— less bad here, as I’ve fluffed up my hair.

Any advice, especially from other Asian American women, would be greatly appreciated.

I do not have health insurance, so seeing a doctor will be expensive. I used to have an IUD, which I removed last year. I avoid topical minoxidil since I live with four cats (don’t want to risk it). Both my parents do not have hair loss— they both have luscious hair into their sixties.

It’s a massive hit to my confidence…I’m so sad about it!
