Self study for ACCA or AAT?

Hello. I just graduated with a third in a maths degree from a Russell group university. My time at university was affected by numerous health and family issues thus the bad degree result. I also have very little work experience.

I’ve been looking into my options in what I can do next and I would like some advice on whether I should self study for the ACCA or start with AAT.

I would not be considered for any ACCA apprenticeships so if I were to start self studying for ACCA now, would employers still hire me? What is the best way to gain the practical experience for ACCA? Should I pass all my exams and then apply for accounting jobs?

Many entry level roles for like bookkeeping and accounts assistant ask for experience in this role so how would I go about getting that experience?

Any advice would be highly appreciated.

Thank you

Got a 3rd class honours

Hi.

I just received a third class honours in my degree which is in BSc mathematics from a Russell group university. There were numerous reasons on why I got a third, a lot of health issues and family issues, I also took a medical leave of absence and repeated a year as-well but still ended up struggling with university. I know what led me to this and I’m just feeling really lost and anxious about the future and just don’t know what to do. I’m 24 years old now and I feel like I have just wasted a lot of my time and also as the first person to attend university in my family I felt a lot of pressure to succeed but I just feel like a failure now.

What I wanted to know is what my options are now. I know most masters is off limits for me. Is it worth it for me to do another bachelors?

I have A levels A,A,B in mathematics, chemistry and biology respectively and my GCSE’s are mostly A/A*s. What can I do with these grades?

I have also been thinking of self studying for the ACCA whilst looking for some entry level job. Is this worthwhile? Any advice and guidance would be really appreciated.

Thank you.
