Is the Xmid 2 tent too big for most tent sites on the AT?

I’ve hiked the first 200 miles on the trail. Thinking back at it there were a lot of spots that were pretty small. One of the biggest criticisms for the X-Men two is how laughably humongous it is. Did anybody have a problem with this or is there any other problems with the xmid that I should take into consideration before I buy it?

This whole JD thing has been blown way out of proportion.

I find it funny how 90% of the analysts and nba fans had no idea who JD was untilllll everyone started bashing him for his playoff performance (which actually wasn’t terrible, just not up to his reg season average) the dude is like 22 and just came off an unexpectedly great season but we talking about him like he’s a bust now? Did we not extend Drummond who had literally 0 post presence? JD had a better season than Drummond had in his whole career. JD wasn’t scoring much becsuse he wasn’t getting the ball from Cade because they took that away. Plus he was likely hearing all the criticism from y’all and overthinking it. We need to invest in him and if it doesn’t pan out just trade the man. But I think it’s crazy all the criticism from y’all like y’all forgot who this man is!

WTH is this in my herbs?? Mushrooms????

I used some mushroom compost in my veggies, (okra, pole beans, sweet potatoes, herbs) these mushrooms sprung up out of nowhere, I don’t know if my garden is ruined or what? Is this psilocybin shrooms?? I used black kow too. Am I cooked?

Edit: thanks guys i just wanted to be sure, especially with my herbs. If you’re wondering I used a mixture of 50% Mother Earth Terra craft potting soil, 30% mushroom compost and black kow, 15-20% perlite.

Respectfully, thru hiking is not for me. My 2 week experience

I tried to like it! I admire those who do it, but I had to quit early.

Starting from Springer Mountain, I made it to newfound gap in the Smoky Mountains. I had it in my mind to thru hike, and I’ve been glamorizing it for a long time. After doing 200 miles on the trail I have to say it wasn’t 100% what I was expecting. Don’t get me wrong I had a great time and I met great people, the truth is… It was boring.

I hate to say that, because I’m the type of guy to enjoy nature and life without technology.. It was just the many ups and downs and repeated lifestyle. You climb up a mountain and summit then you climb back down then you climb up again maybe find a shelter or campsite, if it’s too early push on if not set up camp. Every couple days go into town and resupply, etc. I can’t really say if I had a tramily or not. I was hiking with the same eight or nine people for about a week so we got pretty close. The people truly were the best part about it.

I think I just envisioned this trip to be a bit more deep, and nurturing to the soul. I thought it would change me on a spiritual level and have me appreciate life more. Maybe my hopes were a bit too high.

I might have more time off in the future to continue if I want to, but I’m not sure if I will or not.. if I’m feeling like this right now is this just not for me? I think I’d rather do parts of the PCT because it looks more beautiful. But I’m not entirely sure if I’ll have the same experience. Either way I’m very happy that I took this trip and I respect those who thru hike!!

Edit: boring was the wrong word, i think a better word to describe how it felt is “monotonous”
