Barefoot shoes and hyper mobility

ETA thank you so much everyone for your insight and suggestions - all hugely helpful!

Hi all

I had the pleasure of spending the weekend with my 14 year old second cousin. Her ankles roll in severely and she is hyper-mobile, causing her to destroy her shoes and trip often. She's been advised by medical professionals that due to the hyper-mobility the muscles in her foot will never be strong enough to support the joint. She has been given arch support insoles but I can see that she's still rolling inwards and tripping occassionally - she was wearing Doc Marten style boots with a zip on the inside and rolling off the heel.

Has anyone had experience specifically with hyper-mobility and barefoot? Or recommendations of places to find information or people to speak to (they're based in Cheshire, England). Her mum has barefoot shoes so is converted to the concept, it's just whether the hyper-mobility will allow her foot to strengthen enough.

Or recommendations of exercises to strengthen the ankle to support the roll?

TIA!

Midnight Forest whole quilt?

I'm in love with the Midnight Forest patterns from Easy Piece Patterns 😍 I wondered if anyone had put them all together into a quilt? My sister has recently found out she is expecting and I'd love to make them for the baby! (Second question - what size quilts do people usually make when gifting to babies?)

Hut to Hut Recommendations

My husband and I have a week in Italy before attending a wedding in Biella 18th/19th September.

I've looked at the Alta Vias 1 & 2 in Aosta and considered doing a small section of one of those, but for those that know the area well, what would you do if you just wanted to spend 2 or 3 nights in huts/3 or 4 days hiking? We're experienced hikers and used to navigating in the UK, have spent time hiking and rock climbing in the Alps before but not this area. I have done the Italian stages of the TMB.

Also any recommendations for other things that are must-see in the area would be welcome.

Thanks folks!
