Hi all,

I’ll be in Brazil in September for a bit over two weeks and I’m trying to figure out how much cash I should withdraw.

My itinerary includes: Lençóis Maranhenses (where I’ll need to pay local guides/tours), Salvador area + day trips like Praia do Forte and Rio de Janeiro.

From what I’ve read, cards should be widely accepted in cities, but I’d be grateful if those in the know could share recent experience or practical advice.
