Seeking a Black church with a high-energy, authentic gospel choir experience

Hello Oakland!

I am looking for a Black church in the East Bay that is known for its incredibly vibrant, spirited gospel music.

I’ve attended a few Sunday services in SF, but they were a bit too reserved musically for what I’m seeking (usually just a couple of traditional hymns in the middle of the service). I’m really hoping to find a charismatic service where the choir is massive, the congregation is deeply engaged, and the expressive, high-energy music gets the whole room moving.

Does anyone have recommendations for churches with a truly legendary, immersive music ministry? Thank you!

Long term holders - Anyone else rebalancing or trimming MSFT?

Congratulations to everyone who bought at 300s.

Now a question for long-term holders.

I've been DCA'ing since 2018 (2,000 shares @ $200 avg, +100% gains). The problem is, 60% of my entire portfolio (including exposure thru 401k index fund) is currently tied up in MSFT.

I really learned the value of diversification this past year when index funds outperformed MSFT. It wasn't a fun ride, and the lost opportunity cost feels very real.

Curious what percentage MSFT takes up in your total portfolio (including 401k)?

Diversify long held single stock with less tax?

Hi!

I live in California and 70% of asset is locked into single stock that has been RSU’ed. The profit margin is good, but I worry about profit tax. I haven’t sold for last 8 years.

Is it a matter of timing the market to relocate the asset into index fund while not exceeding my tax bracket? What other caveats should I know?

I heard Fidelity offers reallocation without tax only with long term lock up and fees, and looking for other options.

Thank you.

Need an advice on diversifying my portfolio

Hello experts…

Looking for some strategic advice on how to unwind a highly concentrated single-stock position. I want to transition into a more diversified portfolio (like SPY/VOO), but the potential tax drag is making me hesitate.

NVIDIA $50,000 (+37%) - Half LT / ST
SPY $12,000 (+8%) Mostly ST
GOOGL $11,000 (+11%) Mostly ST
Cash: $35,000
MSFT $800,000 (+99%) - all LT

I’ve been DCA’ing into SPY, NVIDIA, GOOGL.

Age: 35
Total Portfolio: ~$908,000
Location: CA
Cash on hand: $35,000
TC: $230,000

The Dilemma:
As you can see, about 88% of my net worth is in MSFT. This was accumulated over several years through company equity and I haven’t sold.

Question

  1. Are there any specific strategies (like Exchange

  2. Funds) that make sense for a position of this size, or am I below the typical threshold for those?

I just realize it’s very difficult to liquidate the stocks I’ve owned long time, and want to make sure spending a couple years to minimize tax hit is indeed expected and typical.. I am kinda regretful not having done earlier. Rather I am trying to find a way to cut taxes.
