Help me understand Veronika
Was a fan of hers on Instagram so I was hyped when she got cast, but watching the season it just… didn’t work? She kept getting fewer appearances and when she did show up it was mostly background filler. Even the sketches that seemed designed for her specific thing weren’t funny to me (like she had to try super hard, always overstated). Felt like she could only do the one goofy character she does online and it just didn’t translate to the show.
What I can’t figure out is how she went from guest to full cast member. By mid-season it really seemed like the writers either didn’t know what to do with her or just weren’t that into her. The airtime kept shrinking and even the stuff built around her strengths wasn’t landing. Like what did they see in that guest run that made them think “yes, let’s bring her on staff”? I actually like her and want her to succeed but the gap between that decision and what we actually watched this season is wild to me.
I hope you all disagree and I get roasted and that I’m just way off mark on this one (I did miss a few eps). I’m just feeling like I’m in a different reality on this one and what am I missing?
