I blame Harden less in retrospect

In real time I was really angry with harden getting cooked and taking terrible shots. Make no mistake Harden was really really bad. He's also 37 years old, played 14 straight playoff games in less than a month total and kenny rode this man 14 straight minutes of gameclock and never called any timeouts to let him rest.

James isnt gonna ask to come out, hes not gonna say he needs a breather. Up 22 you give him a rest and put your best defenders is. This was an egregious coaching performance. I would not let kenny coach another game, i seriously would not.

The worst coaching job I've seen in 35 years on earth.

Im sick to my stomach. We have a road to the finals opening in front of us. Up 22 in game 1 to steal it 7 minutes left. To not call a timeout until 18-1 run and then call it 4 minutes late. Then still with a 6 pt lead not use anymore before regulation including when you have the last shot.

To not challenge the foul on mobley which was nonsense.

Unfortunately for kenny this is not isolated he does this every time. He refuses to call timeouts. He refuses to use challenges late. He refuses to hold players accountable and tell james to stop chucking or dennis etc.

I hate you kenny I seriously hate you. I was so excited going up game 1. Im coming to the us on Friday and Cleveland on monday. I thought man we could be taking a series lead 3-1 but this is back breaking. An egregious coaching job and a fireable offense

Strus has to start, here's why (it's not really about Wade).

I saw Carter from The Chase Down was calling for Wade to start, in order to guard Brunson.

Funny timing right after listening to Dunc'd on spend a part of their Game 7 vs Detroit coverage lamenting the Cavs finally made the adjustment to start Strus -- an adjustment many of us were calling for several games earlier.

The biggest reason Strus should start has nothing to do with Wade himself.

The Cavs ranked 14th in defensive rebounding rate this postseason out of 16 teams. We actually hold up fine with double-big lineups. The problem is we hemorrhage leads and rebounds when forced to go small with Strus or Tyson at the 4.

We're only running 3 non "smalls" in the rotation to begin with. At times we're putting four guys 6'5 and under on the floor simultaneously. Starting Wade at the 3 means all three of our bigs start which forces us into small ball for a larger chunk of the game. Dean coming off the bench to play the 4 gives us a better chance to not get killed on the glass.

We can pretend making the ECF means everything is fine and ignore why we went to 7 in back-to-back series. Beyond turnovers, we badly lost the possession battle in most of those losses -- and the small lineups got murdered. Playing smaller is partially unavoidable given the roster construction, but starting Strus and bringing Wade off the bench alleviates it to a certain extent.

On the Wade apologist crowd -- the +/- obsession and completely discounting the output drives me crazy. Wade plays most of his minutes alongside our best players, and when he's off the floor we're running the small ball lineups that get destroyed. The number is skewed. This was a hockey stat for decades -- plenty of guys slotted next to Crosby with great on-ice numbers who never earned the contracts that followed.

Doing 3pts and 1 reb in 20 minutes cant be offset by good defense. Even Ausar thompson is getting flck for his limitations despite being way better than wade defensively and more productive on the glass.

Wade was excellent against Ingram. He was fine against Cade who still scored at will though. he's a liability offensively regardless. Detroit was guarding him almost like Ausar Thompson. What would be open looks for Strus or Merrill just aren't for Wade -- his catch-and-gather is slow, his decision-making is slow, and his willingness to pull the trigger isn't there partly because he's not making them. Ironically he looked better offensively coming off the bench in Game 7.

I like Dean. His drip is real his schlong is long.

We need 15-20 good minutes from him a game to win this series. I just think Strus gives the offense better spacing to open games, keeps us from going as small with the second unit, and makes us a harder team to scheme against.

We steal Game 1 and ride it to the Finals in 6. I got my tickets for game 4 where cavs will take a 3-1 lead

We win against the spurs befire singing lebron to a vet min and winning 2 more in a row for him to match Jordan's 6.

Ahhh it feels good to have hope.

Fck the Knicks

Go cavs!!!!!

Late game iso ball great when it works, but potentially suboptimal in excess.

I was as happy as anyone to see harden score 3 straight iso possesions to win the other day but in my gut I felt uneasy the whole time.

We all understand that he's an all time great iso player and other commentators point about getting Duncan Robinson on an island being a great outcome but there's still something unsettling about 4 guys standing around while one guy dribbles the air out of the ball for 15 seconds at the top of the key.

I can't help but shout at the screen go go go run something get into the action to the ball handler and move move move etc to his team mates.

I am not saying never run iso plays for great iso players but I have in these playoffs seen this team has a real tendency to stop running offense in the final 4 or 5 minutes of games in favor of letting Harden or Mitchell "go to work" in isolation. It worked out well for us in game 3 but in other games it has been to our detriment.

Not running sets in favor of this approach contributed a lot to losing games 4 and 6 against Toronto. Kenny wouldn't even call a TO to draw something up. He's just like ok james ok donovan go make something happen..

totally get a coach deferring to his stars as well but It just felt bad seeing us do the same thing over and over and all the other guys just standing around. A much less talented team offensively out dueled us in those games by moving the rock and getting quality shot while we were taking tough contested ones.

If it leads to us winning this series or a championship they can play how ever and I won't care i just wonder if it wouldn't be prudent to mix in some plays, get a little motion going, and even call time outs occasionally in crunch time to maximize our chances of winning.

Hope we win by 30 tonight and this won't even matter! Go Cavs!
