Obsession - Meine negative Kritik

Charaktere: Alle Figuren hatten keinen Charakter.

  • White Trash has 3 songs with El Hefe solo on vocals: Johnny Appleseed, Straight Edge, Buggley Eyes
  • Punk in Drublic has songs with El Hefe doing vocals or a moment where he is doing a funny voice: Perfect Government, My heart is yearning, Punk Guy
  • Heavy Petting Zoo has El Hefe clearly doing vocals on Bleeding Heart Disease and Whatever Didi Wants
  • Pump Up The Vaaluum has El Hefe vocals shining through on Clams have feelings too, Theme from a Nofx song, Thank god it's monday, Total Bummer

Then there is of course the all songs where El Hefe is playing trumpet like Bob, Quart in session, Drop the world, The Decline and many more

Also songs on Punk in Drublic and Heavy Petting Zoo have El Hefes voice more prominent in backing vocals like Leave it alone for example.

I feel like starting with War on Errorism that kind of stopped and El Hefe is not prominently doing vocals on the newer albums

In the Spin article, Mike says about First Ditch Effort:

It was a crazy recording. Cameron [Webb, producer] brought in Hefe when I was passed out at the hotel to do vocals even though I had Spike [Slawson] from the Gimmes and Johnny [Carey] from Old Man Markley to do perfect harmonies. If you hear the harmonies Hefe did on Heavy Petting Zoo, our voices don’t buzz, so I either have to do harmonies on my own or get someone who sounds like me.

I feel like the El Hefe vocals, just like the Mel Yell, are part of the Nofx formula and identity. The newer albums not giving any voice work to Hefe is one of many reasons why the newer albums feel less like typical Nofx albums.

What are your favorite Hefe voice cameos? Do you think they should have kept more of his voice on the newer records? Or do you agree with Mike that their voices don't buzz?

My friend found a mysterious box and now I need your help

My friend, Kyle, and I were riding home from baseball practice, when he suddenly suggested we take a different route through one of the run-down neighborhoods. He stopped in front of an abandoned house and dared me to go inside with him. In the backyard, we found a broken window and climbed in.

Inside the dusty house, Kyle noticed a spot where the wall was broken. He pulled out a few loose bricks and found a mysterious metal box. He opened it, and for a moment, I could see a glowing light and a complex mechanism of turning gears. It was immediately fascinating in an eerie, haunting way.

I was intrigued and wanted to see more but he just slammed the box shut and hurried back to our bikes. I followed him, begging him to let me see it again, but he got instantly mad and shoved me so hard, I fell over my bike. Then he just rode off with the box under his arm and left me.

The next day at school, I saw Kyle step out of a brand-new car. It was weird because I could swear, up to this day, Kyle had always been a poor kid just like me. In the hallway, I saw him holding hands with Becky, the cutest girl in school. I asked him about it on our way to class, but he just said:

“I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’ve been with Becky since forever and I’ve been driving this car for a while now. Dude, get some rest.”

In class, the teacher handed back our history tests and specifically pointed out that Kyle had the highest score in the entire class. At baseball practice he was insane, hitting perfect homeruns with every swing.

After school I rode my bike to his house to confront him about the box. His house was a huge mansion. His mom and dad opened the door, smiling and friendly. I could’ve sworn Kyle came from a broken home with deadbeat parents, just like me. I asked him:

“Yo, what’s going on with the fancy house? Everything changed after you took that weird box. Where is it?”

But he just dismissed me like I was crazy and slammed the door shut in my face.

That night I felt confused and had nightmares of the box and the otherworldly ticking mechanism inside of it, but the next day, I woke up and it started to feel like it was all a dream and I was the one with false memories. So I let it go and tried to forget about the box and my conflicting memories.

Over the next week, things turned ugly. The other kids in school began hating on Kyle for being perfect at everything. Someone scratched and demolished his new car. His girlfriend Becky started following him around everywhere, totally obsessed with him. At home, I saw on the local news a story about his parents being suspected of criminal activity.

Then, on Friday night, Kyle texted me. I went outside and found him looking terrified, tears running down his face.

“I made a huge mistake. You have to help me, please. Take the box, but don’t use it on yourself - EVER. Don’t do what I did. And... go to the locker room at the baseball field and open the door. I have to go now. Thanks for being my friend. I’m sorry.”

Then he jumped on his bike and disappeared into the night.

I went to the baseball field and when I reached the locker room, I heard desperate pounding from inside. The second I opened the door, Becky stumbled out. Her eyes looked sad and empty.

“Where is Kyle? Have you seen Kyle? Kyle, where are you?” She kept repeating his name and ran off into the night.

I’m back home now. The metal box is sitting on my desk. I’m scared out of my mind. Should I open it to try and help my friend? Or should I return it to the empty house and stay safe? I don't know what to do. Reddit, please help.

Backstabbers - Some dead frienships are not meant to be revived

A newlywed couple throws a housewarming party in their new home and invites their old high school friend group. Passive aggressive jabs escalate into a violent frenzy as the old friends all share bottled up deep resentments at the couple for being neglected and left behind.

What follows is a Ready-or-not and Mayhem-type murder frenzy as the couple navigates the house, fighting their old friends to the death one by one with bloody results. They flee to the woods, chased by by the remaining "friends" hunting them. The showdown consists of the couple blowing up their house with all the friends inside it. The couple, showered in blood, professes their love and kisses at dawn, as burnt body parts scatter around them.

Does that sound like a good movie idea? Should i flesh this out further into a full script or story? Do you have spontaneous ideas that would fit the premise?

PS: I'm not an industry person. I'm just a horror movie fan. Sharing the idea with you is just for fun and games and probably the closest i will get to "getting it made". If it ever shows up in theatres, its because a movie executive stole this idea.

Gatorade

There are currently 3 different horror movies called "Good Boy" available on streaming and a new horror movie called "Good Boy" is about to be released in theatres in June, 2026.

I bet a lot of people wanted to see the currently popular Good Boy (2025), where the dog can sense ghosts and is the protagonist and instead rented Good Boy (2022), a disturbing movie where a woman meets a man and discover he holds another man as a pet dog. Both movies are currently available on prime video for rental under the name "Good Boy".

I, myself, saw a movie titled "Good Boy" on Disney Plus, expecting the dog protagonist movie, only to realize its actually a short film with a small dog as the monster.

Good Boy (2022) - Short film, dog is the villain

Good Boy (2022) - Norwegian film where a man holds another man as a pet dog

Good Boy (2025) - The dog can sense ghosts and is the protagonist

Good Boy (2026) - Upcoming film about a Tiktok influencer held captive as a dog
