Hard time losing weight when I introduce strength training

Hello guys! I don’t know what my actual goal of this post is, maybe to see if others have struggled with the same thing as me or if anybody has any suggestions.

I don’t have the hardest time losing weight by just limiting my calories. What I have found that works best for me is to reduce my portion sizes, as I can never cut out the things I love the most, like chocolate. Using this method I lost 10 kg over 3 months, but now I really want to gain muscle and improve my fitness.

I have been going to the gym on and off for so many years, I know very well what exercises to do, how to plan my workouts etc., but what always destroys my gym progress is that my weight starts to increase, when my main goal actually is weight loss. I’m not only talking about the weight on the scale, sometimes my overall look stays the same or my jeans even start getting tighter.

When I start strength training my hunger becomes so strong. It feels like I could eat anything all the time, and I obviously can’t keep limiting my portion sizes because then I will have no energy. I have tried counting calories and macros and all that before, but it never worked for me. I get easily overly obsessed with it, and it usually ends up in me being back in stage 1, or even worse. My relationship with food and training is not the best, unfortunately…

I truly want to lose the last bit of extra weight (now I am 170 cm, 76 kg and 26F), but being in good physical health is also so important to me. Help me out fellow friends ❤️
