How do Wolfies coats handle the salt water of the ocean? We have access to an outdoor shower so he’s got options for a rinse off if it affects his coat.

My wolfie will be 3 in a few months and I’ve noticed a gradual drop in his interest in playing with me or with his puppy friends.
He won’t really play for more than 5-10 minutes then he taps out.
Is he just growing up? Anyone else notice this pattern?
Aside from hand stripping the undercoat? (Shaving isn’t an option)
We are planning a big road trip with a lot of hiking sites this summer. All of the trails I’ve targeted are short, shady, low elevation climbs and along water when I can. I plan to pack plenty of water for my little baby.
Anything else anyone has had surprising luck with when trying to keep their fuzzballs cool?
