Building Sub Question
Is it normal for building subs to get last choice? Other building subs, do outside subs get first dibs at sub jobs over you? Since it’s the beginning of the year not many teachers have been out. But the ones who have been have mainly had outside subs and I’ve been scolded for picking up subbing jobs because I was told I’m supposed to stay available for last minute jobs. But that leaves me subbing for the aides or floating doing nothing, or even last week I had to help the outside sub because she didn’t know how to do our curriculum or use the technology🤦🏻♀️Is this normal though? I have a meeting with HR to discuss just to get everyone all on the same page because this was all never really explained to me upon hire (I switched from a different role in the school district so I didn’t have to do a super formal interview).
