Looking for Social Work positions insight.

I have spent the last 10 years doing quality assurance and foster care adoptions. I’m very familiar with child welfare practices, policy work, data collection, auditing, all things paperwork when it comes to foster care (specifically in Kansas).
Prior, I worked in a group home for 2.5 years.
Before that, teaching for 6 years.

I want to learn about other areas in the social work field. I recently finished my BSW, working on studying for licensure.
But I’ve spent all my time in child welfare. I want to know what other positions look like. School social work. Medical social work. Community services. Etc.

What do you do? Not a job description. What do you ACTUALLY do? The good, the bad, the ugly. I’m not sure child welfare is where I want to stay, so I feel like the best first step is learning what other roles in this field really look like day to day!

Thanks in advance!

Child Welfare to School Social Work?

A little backstory. I’ve been actively working in the child welfare realm for 10 years. 2ish years in a youth residential facility as direct support staff, and 8 years of working for foster care case management provider in a 75% desk bound clerical position. (Completing paperwork, policy work, writing home studies, etc.)
I just finished my BSW. I’m at the point that I’m losing faith in the system like so many others before me. I’m considering a switch in roles.
For anyone with experience, what are the major differences? What do school social workers REALLY do? In real language from social worker to social worker, not a list on job duties on the website. The good and the bad. Pros. Cons.

Job suggestions are welcome too. I’m in the wider Kansas City area.
