Released off Waitlist
What does "released off waitlist mean?"
My sister just logged into her UW Madison student center to check on the status of her wait listed application. The application status has been updated to "released off waitlist," but she received no emails or notifications in the student center to indicate an updated decision. This wording is unclear and we're wondering what it means. Is the waitlist closed and she has been denied entry to the university? Or has she been accepted off the waitlist and they have yet to send an email? Is it a glitch of some sort?
Any info would be much appreciated. Specifically, if anyone here has been accepted off the waitlist, what does the status say in your portal? Thank you!
ETA: We will call once their office is open again after the weekend. Just wondering if anyone has personal experience!
