Visiting a Litter on Sunday: Any Tips?

Hi everyone,

We have patiently been waiting for this moment: picking our kitten this Sunday! This will be our first cat together. My husband is mildly allergic (even with our visit to the breeder back this winter) when he touches a cat/furniture with cat hair and his eyes. This is a litter of 4 (2m, 2f), and we are the last pick. However the breeder mentioned the kittens have the last say in the matching. We are not picky on the colour, the sex or the personality other than I prefer a high-energy kitten who will be like go-go-go all the time.

I am not sure what to expect as we have the last choice and therefore are the last ones to visit that day. Any tips, insight will be welcomed on questions to ask, things to observe, but mostly questions to ask as the breeder will know best than us during one single visit. What could be signs for us to wait to have first pick next litter? Breeder has not communicated other available litters, but it is likely has they have a few princess and our estimated date to have a kitten was in mid-fall, not in end of summer. Thanks!!

P.S. WE ARE FREAKIN' EXCITED!

Best Resource to Learn About Carpet Beetles

Hi everyone, I have found this website being the most helpful to identify, learn more about their life cycle (that is freaking long!) and how to manage an infestation. Looking back after an infestation, this was the most helpful.

Kitten pictures of your furry babies

We just got the confirmation email that we have last pick on a litter! We are so happy to finally be able to confirm our interest for a litter and would get him/her in mid-August roughly. To celebrate, I want to see kitten photos of your cats 🥰.

Renter friendly barrier recommendation

Hi all,

Due to allergies, the bedroom will be off limit at first for our new kitten. I was wondering if any of you had success with a type of door/barrier with a grid or a screen to allow the actual bedroom door to be open (for airflow), but keep kitty out.
